Configure Mask Character Sets

The Configure Mask Character Sets screen
is only available in the Professional Edition.
It allows the Professional Edition user to view or modify the contents
of the character sets from which the password generator randomly selects
characters for mask conversion. For example, if you don't want any zeroes
to be used for the '#' mask character, you may delete the zero (0) from
the 'Numeric' character set. It is easy to restore the default (original)
setting either for one mask or for all masks at a time.
At this time it is not possible to add your own character sets and associated
mask characters. This may be possible in a future version of Masking Password
Generator.
Column Descriptions
|
| Mask |
This is the mask syntax character used in your masks for the associated
set of characters. It may be preceded by a '<' or '>' character
which indicates whether the mask is lowercase or uppercase, respectively.
If there is no case indicator, then both cases, if applicable, are
used for the mask. You cannot change the mask characters in this
column.
|
| Description |
The mask name or description. This cannot be changed.
|
| Default |
If a check mark is displayed, then this character set is in it's
default or original state, i.e. it hasn't been changed. This cannot
be changed directly, but reflects the status of the character set
and will change as the character set is changed.
|
| Character Set |
This is the only column that may be changed directly. You may add
or delete characters as you wish. There are no checks made to determine
if the same character appears more than once in a set. Keep in mind
if a character is repeated then it will have a greater chance of
appearing in the generated password than those that only appear
once, thus skewing the randomness of selection. This may or may
not be desirable, so feel free to make such changes if you wish.
