Masking Password Generator may be run in a special mode where it is not visible but resident in memory. In this mode, which is called System Tray mode, entering a specific combination of keys will cause the password generator to generate a password based on a default mask. The key combination, as well as the default mask, can be defined in the Preferences dialog. The default key combination is Ctrl-Alt-G. You must press and hold down all three keys at once. If this key combination interferes with a global key combination that you are using in another application you may change it to something different. See the Preferences help page for details. Run in System Tray ModeTo run the application in System Tray mode, open the Preferences dialog and check the Windows Startup/Load Application in System Tray option. Checking this option causes a shortcut file to be created in your personal Startup folder, which will cause the application to be loaded whenever you start or log into Windows. if the application isn't already running and you wish to run it in System Tray mode, make sure the Load Application in System Tray option is checked and then, in Windows, click on Start/Programs/Startup/Masking Password Generator. You can copy this shortcut to anywhere else, including your desktop, by right-clicking on the shortcut in the Startup menu and dragging it either to the desktop or a Windows Explorer folder and then selecting 'Copy Here'. If you know the path to the Masking Password Generator application file, you can also run the program by clicking, in Windows, on Start/Run and entering the full path of the file. To run it in System Tray mode, follow the file path by a space and the word tray. For example:
