- Complete rewrite of the password generator
engine and user interface, resulting in much improved performance and
greater usability and intuitiveness.
- Wizards have been added so that passwords can be
generated without knowing anything about masking syntax.
- New random number generator which generates numbers
based on any of numerous uniform and non-uniform statistical distributions.
- New mask types: Hexadecimal, Punctuation, Special,
Alpha/Punctuation.
- Ability to add your own mask types, as well as
changing existing ones as has always been available in the Pro Edition.
- Dictionary-based passwords - generate passwords
of random selections from a dictionary, along with the ability to obscure
such passwords, making them easy to memorize without sacrificing security.
- Phonetic Speller - translate passwords or any character
sequence into phonetic spelling language, which makes it easy to give
out passwords over the phone, or by other verbal means.
- Specify which characters should be not be included
in generated passwords.
- Import and export saved masks files.
- Optional "Category" field for saved masks,
allowing you to sort or filter your saved masks list based on this or
other characteristics.
- Customize full appearance of application - general
look and feel, menu characteristics, fonts. You can even move or delete
menu or toolbar items as desired, and restore original settings anytime.
- Generate passwords directly into either a SQL database
table or a columnar text file. Easy-to-use wizards guide you through configuration
so you accomplish exactly what you want.
- Generate passwords directly to a new file, which
is particularly useful for very large lists, improving performance and
saving system memory.
- Configure the program to automatically check for
program version updates each time it starts.
- Improved "System Tray" mode, providing
both hot-key generation of passwords and also phonetic spelling of any
clipboard item.
- Program can be switched to System Tray mode after
starting in regular mode. Click "File/System Tray".
- Ability to copy portion or all of generated password
list to clipboard.
- Context-sensitive help - click on "What's
This?" button and then click on any field or button to view information
in a popup window about its purpose and function.
- Easier entry of license name and key.
